Intel & AMD Single Core
Cara pengolesannya cukup beri seukuran sebutir nasi tepat ditengah. Baik AMD ataupun Intel(pentium 4 dan juga Celeron) single core memiliki Core tepat di tengah prosessor.

Cukup beri TC di tengah garis melintang secara Vertikal(perhatikan letak yang ditandai segitiga emas di samping kiri, lihat gambar). Juga perhatikan jangan kebanyakan( terlalu kepinggir ) , takutnya meluber kemana-mana sampe keluar prosessor bahayanya masuk ke socket, jikalau TC-nya elektrolit bisa terjadi konslet.

Quadcore AMD & Intel ( sebelum keluarnya PHENOM . apalagi phenom II )

AMD

hampir sama dengan yang dual core tapi ini lebih banyank soalnya ini quadcore

INTEL C2Q/i7


* kebalikan dari C2D ini dioleskan secara horizontal sesuai letak corenya yang horizontal

Intinya pemberian TC yang baik adalah sesuai dengan temmpat core prosessor berada. Terlalu banyak tak baikterlalu dikid juga ga baik.

Lalu kita juga harus tau sifat dari TC itu sendiri. Apakah elektrolit(menghantarkan listrik) atau nonelektrolit.

Penggunaan TC yang electrolit(seperti AS5 ini) harus lebih berhati-hati mengingat sifatnya yang dapat menghantarkan arus listrik. Yang ditakutkan adalah apabila pemberian berlebih dan kemudian luber masuk ke socket prosessor menghubungkan 2 kaki berbeda pada socket bisa mengakibatkan kerusakan fatal pada PC.

Instruksi

* Taruh TC pada atas prosessor(seperti gambar yang atas) di bagian tengah , Jangan sebarkan paste dengan tangan !
* Pasang cooler di atas prosessor dengan benar, sebelum terkunci di posisi kuncinya, goyangkan ke kiri dan kanan( seperti pada gambar kedua/bawah) ini berguna agar Paste menyebar rata dan tidak ada udara yang terperangkap di dalamnya

Application on HDT Coolers

Heat-pipe Direct Touch coolers have taken the market by storm. In our recent Best CPU Cooler Performance - Q1 2008 article, all of the top-placed products were built from HDT technology. The excellent concept performs very well in practice - but it's far from perfect.

There are two flaws in the HDT design currently used in CPU cooler products:

1. The surface is rough and occasionally uneven.
2. There are channels created between the mounting base and heat-pipe.

Fixing the first problem required some wet-sand paper and elbow grease (that's a metaphor for hard work, so don't go searching the web for another product). By lapping down the surface to a flat even base, you can then polish it down to minimize the grain-like finish inherent of HDT products.

It looks to me like HDT coolers have the uncanny ability to perform well using an unorthodox design, but they also require an equally unique method for properly applying thermal paste to the surface.

This guide wasn't created to become a set of rules to be cast in stone, but rather a collection of methods which I personally tested to help assist you with your own project. As with anything, the results are relevant to the product and methods used. Use these methods as a starting point, and make your own refinements from there to achieve the best performance possible.
